Flying in an open cockpit Biplane is like going for a ride on a motorcycle.
On warm days, shorts and t-shirts are fine. When it’s chilly out, you may want a jacket.
You will have some protection from the elements in the front cockpit and will be behind a small windscreen.
The Waco Biplane carries two passengers in the front seat, but we do have a combined weight limit of 400 lbs. and the seat is 32″ wide.
Reservations are not required, but recommended to secure a flight. Otherwise we operate on a “first come first serve” basis.
Please arrive in a timely fashion so you’ll have plenty of time to take photos before your flight. If the weather is not suitable to fly, you can reschedule.
Leather helmets, goggles and silk scarves are available for photos and headsets will be worn during the flight for hearing protection and narrative from the pilot.
All ages are welcome, but some dexterity is required to climb into the airplane.
We will do our best to accommodate everyone.
We offer a 6-8 minute introductory flight to give you a taste of what flying was like in the golden age of aviation. $99 + tax. We will fly over Sevierville and a wide circle around the airport.
For those who would like to see more of the mountains and local scenery, the 15 minute flight goes over Pigeon Forge, around the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and provides an aerial view of Dollywood. $150 + tax.
The 30 minute Barnstormer flight takes you out over Douglas Lake and then follows the Parkway up to Pigeon Forge. From there it follows the same route as the 15 minute flight. It’s the perfect flight for those who those who want more time to enjoy the experience, and have the extra time to take pictures and video along the way. $275 + tax.
All times are from take off to landing and prices are per flight, so two fly for the price of one!
